A Facebook Conversation About the ER Situation

Denise Lavie Just to comment on the ER situation in Ch'town. After speaking with my mom, she had informed us that every Sunday, Gilbert Clements, MLA during her time working at the KCMH, used to walk around the hospital in his suit and tie talking to the patients, nurses and staff asking questions and listening to any concerns the...y might have had...things sure are different in EASTERN PEI.....

Peter Llewellyn Question ----Interesting post from Denise, (mother is my sister) do people still want politicians and public figures to be hands on in problem solving or should they go through public servants\channels and hope the system will follow up?.

Peter Llewellyn Received the policy today dated 1983 and updated in 1993. I need to get it scanned tomorrow for posting (See Scan below) -- very very interesting policy that keeps the health minister or Premier from "popping" in to talk to staff or patients with out permission. Interesting note, cc list on policy did not include minister of health or premier

Peter Llewellyn Monday night, August 9, 2010, in Charlottetown, PEI. Leadership candidate, Peter Llewellyn, honed in on health, education and the need to rebuild the Party with fresh ideas and experienced leadership.

Peter Llewellyn posted this on my status August 7th that Montague Hospital Casual and temporary nurses were told this month to look for other work as they will not be getting shifts at Montague. The Nurse who talked to me about this told me it will be very difficult if not impossible for nurses to get time off for rest or family commitments raising stress levels needlessly.

Peter Llewellyn Well here is the long awaited ER policy. I will not comment tonight in detail other than to post that this is the policy according to Dr. Henderson which bars all elected officials including the Minister of Health from popping into the waiting room of the ER to see or speak to those waiting for Health Care. I will post my response to this policy tomorrow, enjoy.
